The brief (in brief)

Shelley Signs is a highly successful sign-making business. Although we went on to help with a number of different aspects of their marketing, initially they wanted a vehicle to stay in touch with their extensive UK database of customers.

The work

Key 3 Media designed, set up and ran a monthly e-newsletter using our preferred Constant Contact mass email system. The template was on-brand, contained share icons and social media links and each one greeted the recipient by their first name.

Each e-newsletter featured three main stories, hosted on the Shelley Signs website, with summaries and a weblink to the relevant article or page. The focus was on reminding recipients of the kind of work that Shelley Signs can accommodate – interesting rather than sales-y.

The results

The first e-newsletter was opened by 450 people within the first 24 hours, giving an open rate well above the UK norm of 22%… with further opens guaranteed. Phone calls and email enquiries came into Shelley Signs that very afternoon and following morning.

By law, a mass email has to have an ‘unsubscribe’ option but the opt-out rate for Shelley Signs was very low, meaning we were targeting the right people with the right information.
